President and CEO
Dr. Michael C.J. Cowpland

Dr. Michael Cowpland is a world renowned leader and entrepreneur in hardware and software development. In 2001, Mike acquired a majority interest in ZIM Corporation and took over as President and CEO, bringing his experience and business savvy to the burgeoning mobile market. Mike began his career at Bell Northern Research in 1964, working on electronic telephone systems, before moving to MicroSystems International where he became manager of silicon chip design. In 1973, he founded MITEL with Terence Matthews and was the company's CEO for 10 years. During this time, MITEL achieved a 100 per cent annual growth rate and sales of more than $300 million. Attracted to the explosive growth in the software market, and eager for a new challenge, Mike founded Corel Corporation in 1985. Over the next 15 years, he led Corel to become one of the world's top software companies, with 50 million users of CorelDRAW and WordPerfect worldwide.

Mike earned a Bachelor of Science degree (Engineering) at Imperial College in England, a Master's degree and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University. He also holds many honorary degrees and is a member of the development advisory board of Imperial College.

Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Roberto Campagna

Roberto joined ZIM in 2001 as Vice President, Sales. In 2005, Roberto became Vice President, Sales & Marketing, responsible for ZIM's overall sales, marketing and communication strategy.

Roberto brings a wealth of software industry knowledge in the international markets, developed in similar roles at Corel Corporation. During his four years at Corel, he held increasingly senior positions, eventually becoming the Regional Director of Latin America. In this capacity, he was responsible for driving Corel's enterprise, retail and OEM sales and services strategies for the Latin America region.

Fluent in four languages, Roberto holds a Bachelor's degree in International Business and Trade from Carleton University.

Vice President, Business Development
Phil Scavo

Phil's career has evolved during his 5 years at ZIM. Starting as a member of the sales team, Phil was promoted to Vice President, Entity Sales in 2003, responsible for worldwide sales and channel development for Zim Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and database products. In 2004, this role was expanded to Vice President, Business Development to encompass the development of global opportunities for ZIM's SMS products and services as well.Phil began his career in the financial industry at MD Management, a large investment management firm, specializing in equities. Phil earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Business Administration) degree at the University of Ottawa and is a licensed trader in the financial industry.
